Every good business has a purpose. A clear mission that acts as a guiding light for its decisions, direction, and impact. It points the way forward, illuminating the path ahead and determining not just where a business goes, but why it moves at all. That light often begins as a spark, igniting from a simple idea, tethered to an innate belief and deeply rooted in destiny. It might arrive as a flash of clarity, a chain of events that fall into place, or a subtle whisper from within that finally insists on being heard. For us, Sorella came from an inner knowing, pulling us towards a meaningful path that beckoned with quiet clarity.
Once recognized, that spark of truth transformed into an ember, subtle yet alive. It glowed with possibility, growing hotter through intention and consistency. Goals came into focus, momentum built, and progress became deliberate. In time, the ember ignited into a steady flame and purpose became visible, sustained by action. A fire formed, burning steady and strong, remaining fed by the creativity we poured into it. Unwavering, it blazed, extending its warmth outward, as an invitation to connect. However, despite its power, it alone could not speak; it needed a voice. One that would bring depth to direction and soul to intention, because while purpose will always point the way, reason without narrative rings hollow.
In our story, it’s through us, twin sisters, that the fire was given a voice and became amplified with meaning. We gave it form and feeling, a way to express and be understood. It emerged, authentic, clear, and resonant, transforming silent drive into a shared mission. We nurtured the fire without limits or judgment, and allowed it to evolve, deepen, and take shape. Within that growth, our purpose gained a presence. One that now communicates with a name, a face, and a place to be seen, heard, and felt. It doesn't just have the power to lead, but the ability to connect, inspire, and persist. The voice we gave our fire moves through the smoke of its expression, carrying our purpose to those open to receive it. Today, it no longer burns in solitude; rather, it has become a beacon, guiding the way for others and inviting them into its warmth.
Early on, before our guiding light Sorella could grow, be shaped, or be shared, there had to be something solid beneath it. Something steady enough to hold the weight of what we were building. That something was us, the foundation. Built from a bond that would become the kindling. It existed long before the spark and was an unspoken alignment that didn't need defining, only trusting. It’s what made everything possible.
The foundation is often the part no one sees, but it’s where the real work begins. Our connection was the base, not just for our purpose, but for every idea, risk, and decision that would follow. A bond strong enough to carry the weight of something bigger than ourselves. One that could support growth, invite collaboration, and withstand the inevitable challenges of building something from the ground up. It carried with it a belief in each other, in what we felt called to create, and in the knowledge that what we were building had to begin with truth.
We never could have imagined that our journey would be built from our bond. But together, we shared a purpose far greater than ourselves. A vision that spoke to everything we knew we were meant to achieve, and we followed it against all odds. But we didn’t just decide one day to build a business; it was never that simple. In truth, Sorella existed long before we had the words or the idea for it. It had always been there, waiting patiently within us to be brought to life. All it required was alignment and recognition in order to be formed. While fruitful, the path toward our goal was long and challenging. Full of lessons, disappointments, and blessings in disguise. The only thing that kept us moving forward was each other. And while our kinship had always been there, it was our shared experiences that brought us closer together, and even closer to our purpose.
As identical twins, our connection has always been deep and unspoken; quietly guiding us through life. For over a decade, we often worked the same jobs, held similar roles, and moved through the same spaces. We gathered as much experience, expertise, and as many credentials as we could. It was all about looking good on paper, making others proud, and bringing in as much money as possible. But, over time, life took its toll. No title or paycheck could mask the fatigue that clung to us. Drive turned into burnout and persistence became surrender.
Eventually, we began to feel an ache. A quiet restlessness, housing an inner knowing that we were meant for more. We no longer resonated with the everyday hustle and grind that work culture had projected onto us. Our souls were speaking and we wanted out of the rat race. Yet, even though we felt empty, spiritually depleted, and worn down, we didn't listen at first. For years we continued to ignore our intuition, staying in roles that lacked real purpose. However, no matter how misaligned we felt at the time, we have to admit that each experience gave us something valuable. Through every unfulfilling job, we were building the framework for a future we hadn’t yet imagined. Refining our skills, revealing our strengths, and exposing our limits became hard-earned lessons we were truly grateful for. We had unknowingly prepared ourselves for what was to come next.
In retrospect, creating a business of our own was long overdue. We were never meant to settle for less, and had always wanted more. We craved something that would finally give us a positive return and after many unfulfilling years, we were finally ready. No more running others' businesses for them, or pouring our ideas, energy, and care into dreams that didn't belong to us. This time, we were truly prepared to change what we were investing our lives into. So, we quit our jobs, left behind everything we knew for peace, and walked into uncertainty.
In our newfound freedom, we were once again at a threshold of decision. Sure, we had left our unfulfilling careers for good and were finally able to breathe again, but what now? Leaving felt right, but the path ahead had yet to be revealed. Exhausted from the relentless cycle we had endured, we decided to turn inward, exploring the parts of ourselves that had long been neglected. We found that our next steps would be together. Understanding that it was finally time to build something of our own and say goodbye to working for others for good. While it felt intimidating at first, we recognized that no matter what, we were well equipped for what was to come next. So we leapt into the unknown and dove headfirst into entrepreneurship.
At first, we didn’t know exactly what we were building. We just knew it had to feel aligned, real, and rooted in who we are and what matters to us. What began as late night ideas and long conversations slowly took shape into something tangible. As we reconnected with ourselves, our values, our creativity, and our inner voices, everything became clear. We returned to what had shaped us as children and brought it forth with greater purpose. Bringing back something we had loved for as long as we could remember: crystals.
As life-long crystal lovers, semi-precious gemstones were our first loves. Growing up, they were more than just stones, they were a portal to another world. One full of wonder and mystery. Collecting them had become part of our lifestyle but over the years, as we grew older, we distanced ourselves and stopped adding to our collections. Our awareness had shifted and we no longer resonated with the industry that they were a part of. To us, it felt like the market was lacking sellers with missions, values, and most importantly: transparency. It was surprisingly rare for us to find shops that aligned with our values, were upfront about where their materials came from, or shared who was behind the business.
We always knew crystals carried more than just allure, they held stories, shaped by the earth and touched by human hands. So when we returned to them as adults, we knew we needed to tell those stories honestly. We wanted to show that beauty and ethics can coexist, that intention matters, and that when we choose with care, we honor both the earth and each other.
For us, change was imperative; there had to be a shift in the narrative, and we now had a plan to create what we wished existed. Not because no one else was doing it, but because we hadn’t yet found it done in a way that resonated with us. Our vision would align with what actually mattered: ethics, intention, and honesty. We had the time, creativity, and freedom to pursue our idea so we figured it was now or never. This was our chance. What had long been forgotten and put to the side was now a spark, ready to be brought to life and expanded.
Our mission, born of a deep love for the earth and a drive to create meaningful change, became both our compass and our call. We weren't just building something to last, we created Sorella to lead. Our goal is to connect with those who live with intention, act with impact, and share a vision of collective change. Through every offering, we aim to build a community of like-minded individuals whose values align with our own.
We’re not just selling stones, we’re holding space. Providing tools for healing, transformation, and connection. Everything we do, from our roots to our rituals, is grounded in truth. Right now, everything feels aligned. Not because we forced it, but because we trusted the spark, built the fire, and listened when it spoke. In our experience, your intuition will never lead you astray. Your purpose will always point the way and if it's your calling, it will keep calling you.
Our story continues to unfold with every step we take, guided by the same spark that started it all. Sorella is still becoming, still listening, and still growing into what it was always meant to be. What began within us now lives beyond us, carried forward through intention, connection, and shared belief. The fire is still burning, and as it expands, we’re honored to share its warmth with you. Thank you for being here, for reading, and for believing, as we do, that when purpose is honored, it has the power to create lasting change.
